Question
My son turns 18 tomorrow. He seems to think this means he can do whatever he wants, including not doing what I ask. He is picking his girlfriend up at the airport this evening and I told him he needs to come home and sleep here not at his fathers (where there is zero supervision). His reply was "I already told you I wanted to stay at dad's and that is what I am doing." I will not force his will. I will clearly state my request one more time. I am looking for ideas for consequences that will be meaningful. He bought his car, he pays his portion of his car insurance so I don't feel like I can take that away. He does depend on us for paying his cell phone bill and providing him internet at home. He will graduate from high school the end of May and is planning on living in the dorm at the near by university. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
