Question
I am a first year kindergarten teacher with a student who has perplexed me to say the least. She will look my assistant and I in the eye and say, "NO" or "I WILL NOT" when told to sit indian style on the rug or wait your turn on the slide or whatever task I ask of the class. We have called her mom who sounds concerned but unable to control her. We have called her dad who states," My wife really runs our household". Our school policy is to use only positive reinforcement. We have with held playground and carpet time priviledges but she ,"DOESN'T GET IT". She has kicked another student. Told one student the devil was going to get her. Help Please! How can I get through to this child to obey?
