How do you feel about teens calling a parent their bestfriend? My stepdaughter calls her mother her bestfriend (literally). She has difficulties keeping friends, as she is bossy and demanding, and narcisistic. She has told me numerous times that her mom is her bestfriend, and she is the only person that understands her, I disagree, but that is how she feels. I have heard her talking to her mother about this, her mom said something to the effect that she cannot be her friend and parent, but then her mother posted on FB that it is not disrespectful for a child to call a parent bestfriend, but highest compliment.
