Question
My 3 year old daughter has developed a bad habit at dinner time. Although she’s usually pretty good to try new foods, every now and then she will - for some unknown reason - hold a bite of food in her mouth without swallowing. We tell her to swallow her food, she doesn’t. We make her sit in her high chair until she swallows, she sits for literal hours. I’ve even gone so far as to spank her. She still refuses to swallow. How can we get her to eat her food in a timely manner without turning dinner time into a battle of wills?
