Question
How can I help my fiance raise her 7-year-old son correctly when her ex-husband isn't on the same page with her? When their son is in his care, he doesn't discipline consistently or at all and doesn't maintain a regular homework, meal and bedtime schedule like my fiance. He buys toys during every visit although the boy has enough to open a toy store. Her son whines and pouts when he does not get his way and doesn't appreciate what he's been given (excessive in my opinion). My fiance and I are on the same page with you about parenting (consistent discipline, providing needs, limiting wants, etc.). How can we help her son reach his full potential if his father constantly sabotages our efforts?
