Question
My 13 year old son has poor hygiene. He doesn't brush his teeth except rarely, and he showers infrequently (once or twice/week). Sometimes he smells badly, and when I tell him that, he just denies it. I told him that at his next dentist appointment in 2 months, he needs to have a good report, otherwise there will be consequences. I'm not sure what they will be yet, but probably a major reduction in computer and screen time. My wife wants to insist that he brush and floss his teeth every day and watch over him while he does it, but that, I believe, will generate a lot of conflict and acrimony. Any guidance? Thank you.
