What do you do when you find out your child is the bully? Recently, I read my 13-year-old son's text thread and learned he was verbally bullying another child. Reading further, he also orchestrated a plan to end the other boy's relationship with his girlfriend. I'm shocked at what a complete jerk my child is as we have always recommended kindness when discussing a situation he has encountered. We've taken away all available methods of communicating electronically for a month, but I don't want my child to simply learn that he has not to get caught next time. I want him to learn that being nice is valuable and that being a jerk leads to a sorrowful life for everyone involved. Please let me know if there is a way to get through to him so that he can stop going down this path.
