Question
Hi! My daughter will be five in May. Her attention-seeking behavior when she's escalating are easy to deal with at home. We don't feed into it. However, when we're in public, it's a challenge. Yesterday, I was pushing her for a very long time on the swing. My almost seven year old asked me to play freeze tag, so I told my daughter that I was going to do that. She tried to block me, wouldn't let go of my leg, wouldn't get off the ground when it was time to go, etc. She totally shut down and started screaming when I picked her up because she wouldn't stand. I can handle the private meltdowns by what I've learned from John's teachings and prior Q&A with y'all. Please guide me on dealing with this behavior in public.
