Re: ADD

Question

The grandfather connection deals more with the other behaviors than with the anxiety, such as impulsiveness, fidgeting, restlessness, insomnia. My daughter's anxiety (I am told) is stemming from her trying to control her behaviors and concentrate and from being bored in class. She makes very good grades (although she is not a perfectionist) and always has good conduct grades as well. However, when she gets home- its all tears. I do not give her an audience but she will do so in her room on her own. She tells me she is trying to do her work but she is too frustrated. When she was six an educational evaluation showed that she is very smart- gifted range but her school does not provide a gifted program. Before school age, she had no problems other than sleep. She has never slept, despite routine. Her frustrations are spilling over into the rest of her life. I have tried consistency, different homework schedules and reminding her that she can do all things through Christ. These comments make her more angry. This is why I am seeking outside counseling.
