Question
Our daughter is 15 months old, and has started scratching others in the face. We immediately pulled her arms down by her side, give her a very stern look, and say no! Even though we are very serious, she thinks that we are playing a game and starts to giggle. She then continues to try to scratch. One of our friends suggested putting her in time out, but we are not sure if she is too young for this. We attempted to put her in a quarter, standing in front of her so she cannot run away, and she screamed the entire time. Is she too young to understand timeout? Any suggestions on how to handle the scratching? She has also started to hit herself in the head when she gets frustrated. We try to tell her no, but she continues. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you so much!
