Question
I signed-up my 3.5 year old for swimming lessons because I'm pregnant and worried about his safety. Today was the first day; it was 68 degrees outside. He did well at first, but began shivering and wanted out; it ended with him in a crying heap by the pool. The teacher, who has been teaching for 30 years told me that I had "made my decision today" and that she would "break" his strong will tomorrow while I remain out sight. I feel badly because I don't want to turn an otherwise fun activity into something he dreads. Please advise.
