Question
My five year old stepson is acting up in kindergarten. Nothing out of the ordinary for a 5 year old boy, but it needs to be addresssed. We are taking away privileges at our house, but his mother basically does nothing. Or worse, says she is going to limit a privilege but then doesn't follow through. He is only with us two days out of the week. My husband is getting very discouraged as the behavior is not improving, and unfortunately, it is highly unlikely his mother is going to step up the discipline. Her attitude is "he'll grow out of it," despite concerns raised by the teacher. I tell my husband we should keep doing what we are doing, that it still helps- but we also don't want to create a situation where he's always "in trouble" at our house but not at Mom's. Any ideas?
