Sarah, you recently answered a question about a teenager who told his mom "I hate you". My 7 year old has this same problem! I can easily follow your advice (ignore and go about your merry way), but my daughter frequently yells comments of this nature at the top of her lungs when she is corrected and does not get her way. Does the yelling change the advice or move the behavior into the disrespect column? If it moves it to disrespect, how should I handle it? Many thanks!
