Question
My neighborhood seems safe and I let my 5 year old and almost 4 year old go outside to play with the other kids, which range from 7 to 10. Much of the time I sit on my front porch watching and if they are several houses down I can hear when something goes wrong. The youngest neighbor boy and my son are friends, but they always seem to get into some sort of trouble when playing together, and today my daughter was hit with a rock. Do I simply teach my kids that when they play they are bound to get hurt sometimes, or do I let them only play where I can see them? I don't want to cause neighborhood conflict either.
