Question
I have a 9 year old girl who is in need of discipline multiple times daily. None of the methods I use ( spankings, time outs, groundings) have any sort of long term effect on her. The only lesson she seems to have internalized is that she is a victim, and nobody "gets" her. I don't understand this. I was raised strictly, and while I didn't always appreciate or even like my parents at the time, I don't remember ever shifting the blame towards them. I'm exhausted with this child, and I have three other children to care for! I don't want to validate her "complex", but she obviously needs parenting. Please help?
