Question
I am stepmother to a 5 year old boy. As would be expected for a young child, he sometimes misses his mother when he is with us. However, "missing Mommy" sometimes escalates into a full blown crying fit. I think that these tantrums should be handled the same way as any other misbehavior, but my husband feels I am not being sympathetic to a child who struggles with living in two households. Aside from this issue, my husband is very consistent with enforcing rules and discipline. In general, our stepson is very well behaved, happy, easygoing, and goes from house to house easily.
