"As children grow older, parents must give them greater freedom, including greater freedom to make mistakes. "

I have a 6 year old who struggles to stay focused on ANY given task. It doesnt seem to be deliberate or naughty in nature, rather more like chasing a butterfly or a puppy chasing a squirrel. He can’t seem to complete a task in a reasonable amount of time and I feel like my expectations are set very appropriately for his age. Please help. I don’t want to enable his behavior but also don’t want to be too harsh with him.
