Question
My daughter and I are mystified. Her 15 month old has begun waking during sleep, nighttime or nap time, with screaming. During the night he will do this 2-3 times and go back to sleep. During naps it sometimes requires one of us to hold & rock, and it becomes obvious he is doing this while still asleep. He is otherwise a very happy well adjusted walking babbling toddler. We need to get a handle on this, how to respond, and a plan to implement as her second baby is due in 5 months. I visit often as she and her husband both work and she is a pediatric abuse NP who takes scheduled 24 hr call duty. Our initial approach was to let him cry it out, & self sooth, but its getting to be every sleep period. Help!
