Question
My five-year-old daughter consistently complains about itching clothing: the seams itch, the tag itches, the toes of her socks aren't right. Often, this turns into a tantrum or meltdown of some sort. I do believe that this is a real sensation for her, so I have tried to make accommodations such as putting white medical tape over the tags or seams or layering clothing. Lately, it's been out of hand. I recently bought her several new outfits that she won't wear for one reason or another. She tends to be "high-strung" and strong willed. Should I approach this as a disciplinary issue or continue to problem-solve each instance? Please help--I'm at my wits' end!
