5 year old Tantrum Return

Question

My daughter will be turning six in December, and while she made progress with tantrums for a while, now they are returning and very explosive in manner, slamming doors and saying ugly words and acting like she wants to be hurtful to me. I have received counsel from your team before and have read the books. She is in a full day Christian kindergarten program this year and is doing well there, but seems to have all her behaviors in the evening when she gets home. I am wondering if you have any information on "emotionally intense children or gifted children that indicates that tantrums are worse. I have read this but would like your opinion. My daughter was a very early reader and appears to demonstrate many of the characteristics of a gifted/emotionally intense child. I continue to do a lot of reading related to her behavior. Her mood swings from being very sweet, to very nasty when she gets home and I have much difficulty getting her out the door in the a.m. for school. She becomes very obstinate. I love Johns books and I know that my habits have to be consistent. (Keeping calm) We rarely use electronic media and removed the t.v. because it seems to effect her adversely. John told me she was going to be tough! No kidding. Thanks for any help you can provide.
