Divorced Parents on Opposite Ends of Discipline Spectrum

Question

3.5 yr old with "Rosemond" mom/boyfriend and "Chaos" dad/girlfriend. Our grandson spends every other weekend with his dad and will soon spend every other week this summer. Dad has not been a major part of our grandson's life until about 1 year ago. Since last summer we have seen a consistent decline in our grandson's behavior. He has become defiant, saying he can do or say what he wants. Now whenever someone tries to correct his behavior he'll either hit them or himself asking if we want a spanking. There is no discussing this with the dad. He is very bitter about our daughter divorcing him and is oppositional at every chance. I'm going to try to pick up The Well-Behaved Child tonight, and hopefully talk to my daughter about implementing the ticket system. Is there anything else we can do or a plan that might work better? Thanks so much.
