Question
Hello -
My five (soon to be six) year-old daughter cries when I drop her off almost anywhere, at least at first. She cries every once in a while when she gets on the bus to go to school. I just dropped her off at a birthday party of a friend she really likes and she cried. She cried the first day I dropped her off at art class (subsequent classes she hasn't fussed so far). I usually just say a quick goodbye and leave. I thought she'd have grown out this a long time ago. The other mothers look at me like I'm the cruelest mommy in the world when I leave her crying, so I'm wondering if there is something I am doing wrong? Should I hang around a little bit, have her become acclimated a little (like at the party with the other mothers) or just keep doing what I'm doing? She usually stops after a while and has a good time.
