Question
My 11 y/o son probably has Tourette's. It started with a bad strep infection in the middle of 4th grade and just never went away. He struggles sometimes and other days has no problems at all with tics. He got a lot of grief from kids in 4th and 5th grade but managed to do well when the tics didn't bother him - A's and B's but when the tics were bad, B's and C's. We were really proud of how well he managed but now we are facing middle school and my husband is pushing me to put him on medication. The medicine for Tourette's is AWFUL! We are also considering home schooling so he won't have to put up with as much grief from other kids. I don't think that is really the answer. What do you folks think?
