John it surprises me how ignorant you are of ADD/ADHD. ADHD is a lack of a chemical in the brain called Dopamine. That's why stimulants work! Do I like giving my child these drugs? No! But I wouldn't like giving him insulin, either. But it is needed. He struggled so hard in school for 2 years and we tried everything. The meds have helped him to be successful for the first time and he is having a wonderful year. I wish we had done it sooner.
