Question
My child is an 18 year old girl. (soon to turn 19) She has experienced a good deal of trauma within the past 2 years. (friends backstabbing, watching her grandmother pass away-they were very close she now sleeps with a light on and she was hospitalized with pneumonia/pulmonary embolism twice in Apr of last yr.
She is now on antidepressants which have helped. She has stated that she sometimes wishes that she wouldn't have made it when she was sick.
She started meeting boys online, stays out well past curfew. This latest boy we don't approve of but we feel that we can't make her stop seeing him due to her age. My husband has threated to kick her out. We are at wit's end. She is with this boy as late as 5:30 a.m. when we've given her 1 a.m. curfews. He barely works and is in a band. He has been disrespectful to us. We're lost as to where to go from here. Thank you.
