Question
When do children know/understand what lies are? I have a 4 year old, who sometimes tells fantastical stories that I truly believe he thinks are real. But I know that he is malevolently lying about some things—for instance he was in a LONG time out today and I saw on the camera him run into his room when I started talking to him on the monitor. When I asked where he was he said he didn’t know… but then said he got the guitar and then admitted he went to the playroom. I also think he’s lying about messing with his baby sister when my back is turned!
