Question
My daughter likes to give me presents such as bracelets that she weaved, or rainbow loom bracelets, or cards, or drawings, or notes etc as early as when she can use her hands. She is 12 now. As I wanted to encourage her effort towards art and handicraft , I've always expressed praise, joy and thanks to her when presented with her gifts. However, of late, I think that she should learn that she shouldn't expect me to always welcome her gifts. I would like her to learn to see whether it is a gift I want or will like before she gives them to me. She gives me so many gifts that her gifts can be a hassle, and many times, I think she can do them better. How do I put this frame of mind into her without discouraging her or making her free unappreciated?
