Question
Hello,
I got John's answer today about my 9 yr old with "ocd/anxiety" like issues. Thank you so much for your response. The thing that she does that is the most frustrating is when we are talking, does not matter what about, she will say "just saying, just saying, just saying, just saying, ok, ok, ok, ok." She has to say both phrases 4 times. I don't know how to get her to stop this. In this case it's not her asking me to repeat something, it's getting her to stop! If I don't acknowledge her she will just keep asking if I heard her. I told her she was going to bed early and it had absolutely no effect on her. A minute later she was repeating the just saying/ok phrase. It is so frustrating and I am at my wit's end. Her little sister even starts yelling for her to stop it!! Help!! Thank you in advance.
