Question
I am raising my 3 year old (3 yrs &11 months) nephew. I have had him for the past 6 months. In his previous placement he was the only child so I believe he got what he wanted all the time. I also have his 12 and 15 year old brothers and he is not allowed to do whatever he wants. He tends to yell, scream, hit others (push, kick his legs knowing another child is there (at daycare), hit) at his daycare. He does the same thing at home with his brothers except push, but he wants to kick the dogs and play fight with his brothers. When he doesn't get his way he will scream at the top of his lungs at me and the daycare provider. I am afraid of him being kicked out of daycare for these behaviors. The daycare provider will put him in time out but it seems to not do anything only affect the other kids. Does he realize at his age the consequences? He gets in trouble and then gets released and does it again. I do not know how to handle him after daycare. Should he be in trouble still at home for what he did in daycare? or just wait til he messes up at home which is not too long after we get home because he will do something against the rules and go to timeout. Please help!
