Question
Motivating my 11-year-old to do well in school has obviously failed. He has been improving steadily for the past two years, but he decided to totally slack off this spring. At the halfway point of the year in December, he had all A's and B's. Now, at the end, he has 0 A's, two B's, two C's, and one D-! His teachers agree that he is capable of doing better work. I want him to learn the lesson of all lessons this summer so that we don't repeat this at the end of next year. Just for background, we also have a 3-year-old and want to do some travelling/vacationing this summer. What do you suggest?
