Question
Hi,
We have an almost 3 year old and an 11 month old.
The 3 year old does not seem to understand how to interact with his brother in a gentle and acceptable manner. He bites, pinches, hits, shoves, sits on him, etc. Most of the time it doesn't really seem like he's trying to hurt him as much as he's trying to play with him, but it's obviously not a behavior that we can allow. This has been going on for months and I have done everything I can think of to stop the aggressive behavior (time-out, spanking, losing privileges, showing him alternative behavior [kissing vs. biting]) but nothing seems to work... It's gotten to the point that I can't turn my back for more than a few seconds without the baby getting hurt in some way! Do you have any suggestions?
