Grandma Stirs Up Trouble

Question

I have a question and hopefully I dont sound like i'm rambling here, I have a mother in law who happens to be a very emotional person, and unfortunately seems to thrive off drama, so it can be stressful at times, anyway unfortunately she feels the need to pull my kids into it, I have 5 kids my oldest is 8, there have been several incidents over the years that have made it hard to trust her, she was calling every week to take the kids out to mcdonalds, and I understand a grandparent wanting to spend time their grandchildren, but I don't want them eating fast food every week and drinking pop all the time so I just asked them to pick a different activity to do with the kids , which of course she took personally, then told me she wanted the kids one day to take to the park, when they came home my daughter seemed very stressed out for the rest of the day, when I sat her down and asked what was wrong, she said grandma took them out to mcdonalds and told them that they `needed to keep it a secret from mom or else I was going to yell at grandma, which of course I wouldn't do, and recently my husband and I have decided that we will probably be moving provinces, which of course she didn't handle well, and when we went over there for a visit she took my daughter into a room and by the time I went in there my daughter was in tears because her grandma told her that if she moves it would kill grandma and a whole bunch of other guilt, anyway there have been more problems and i'm sure you get the point, I'm at a point though where I don't trust her to be alone with the kids and she constantly calls me because she wants the kids to sleep over, am I right to take the stand, to say she just can't be alone with the kids? My kids love their grandparents naturally, and love spending time with them and when she isn't acting like this she is wonderful with them, but her behavior just isn't sitting well with me anymore
