Our son is about to turn 7 and sucks his thumb very often. What are effective approaches to get him to stop? Many varying efforts have failed: Nice polite requests of removal, reward systems for 'days without thumb sucking', time outs, etc. We even had our dentist show him pictures of what can happen to teeth. Nothing is working.
