Question
We started potty training our daughter 5 months ago at 26 months and everything was going fine. She has not worn diapers during the day this whole time. About a month or so after she started training, one of her teachers at preschool yelled at her when she stared peeing away from the toilet. I don’t think they meant anything harmful on purpose, but the way this happened frightened my daughter.
Ever since, she has not had any accidents, but neither has she released pee or poop in the potty. She holds it until naptime or bedtime and goes when she sleeps. She is in so much distress when she is holding it, and it is absolutely heart wrenching to watch. Nothing calms her down except going down to sleep.
What are your thoughts on next steps to help her?
