Teen Work at the Family Business?

Question

Our 17-year-old works in the family home business to earn money for gas and her own spending. She has chosen this option over a retail job because of her need for flexible hours with her several school and church leadership roles. However, the last few months she has taken advantage of this flexibility to the point of barely working. While we can certainly let natural consequences eventually take over when she realizes she has no money, her flush bank account will not make this any time soon. In the meantime, we are in the height of our busy season and really need the help over the next 6-8 weeks. The intricacies and artistic nature of the business make it impractical to hire outside the family during this crunch time. I'd like to tie in her ability to go out on the weekends to her having completed 10 hours of company work each week but didn't know if it were wise to mix personal restrictions with work obligations. And if this isn't a solution, what might be?
