7 YEAR OLD HAS NO DESIRE TO LISTEN TO REASON

Question

We have a 7.5yo son with a habit of yelling/screaming/whining at us when we attempt to talk to him at times when he is misbehaving or breaking family rules. We can barely get the first words out (either at the time or after he's had 10min to cool down). He just goes into this behaviour which then ends in jumping or stomping off and occasionally a tantrum because he does not like the consequences that come from the behaviour displayed.

Second to this, he will refuse to be in his room on loss of all tickets. May eventually go after the longest time, but after not really missing out on being part of family things on the fringes. When we've implemented a week, 10 days or even a month of ending his day after school for this behaviour - he will not stay in his room.

He is wilfully defiant, stubborn as a mule, and doesn't appear to be learning from the consequences metered out.

Would love some ideas

We've a 6yo boy & 4yo girl too & have been practicing Rosemond's ways from start.
