Question
Help! My 17-year old daughter recently broke up with her boyfriend and has a crush on another boy. He just asked her to the prom:). My daughter is amazing, growing up to be a responsible,loving young woman. I have no issues with her......The problem is, my husband is very upset that she likes this new boy who just happens to be Black. He cannot stand the thought of our daughter with him. I've talked about this new relationship with her (we have a great relationship) and dont see an issue....she's NOT exclusive and is more or less friends. I respect my husband and his opinion, but I don't agree. I dont judge people like he does. I have met this boy, and he is very respectful/pleasant. There are no red flags.
I feel my husband is taking this way too seriously and its causing a lot of friction between us all. I need some advice please! He tells her he wants her to go back with her ex because he likes him....he's always bringing it up. I feel he should back off a bit. BTW we have three boys also ages 16,13,11
