30mo has fewer than 10 words and tested at the cognitive level of a 20mo. His regular pediatrician wants him to have speech therapy and see a developmental pediatrician. In your opinion, are these interventions necessary at this age or can we wait and see. If it makes any difference, he was born full term and healthy, and has no other medical problems.
