Question

We have three boys, ages 14, 11, and 7. We recently started attending a new church. I would like the older two to attend the Wednesday night youth group but am unsure how to approach it with them. It's a biblically grounded program with great leaders. My husband and I have only recently gotten on the same page about attending church as a complete family after years of me being the one to take the initiative to get them there. The kids attend church much more agreeably now that my husband goes. We are currently reading through The Bible Parenting Code and I have also read Teenproofing. I'm expecting at least some degree of resistance to attending the youth group. Since my older two are either in or close to the Age of Mentoring, how much of their voice/opinion should I take into account? Or do I just say, "You're going. Period." or something else?
