Question
Hi, John. My 8 yo son had terrible separation anxiety as a little boy, but, thanks to you, was cured of it by age 4. However, it's reared it's ugly head again. For the last 3 weeks, when we announce a babysitter is coming, my son will cry and get himself so worked up that he has a severe stomach ache. How can get him to stop getting so upset? It's ok for him to be sad we are leaaving, but I feel as if he is old enough to handle it better! (One note--his classmate's father was killed in a car accident a month ago. Could this death could be the reason for my son's anxiety? My son says no, but the timing is awfully coincidental.) Thanks so much!
