I'm not at all in doubt. I've experienced her not having a bowel movement, in the past, for many as three days and as I stated previously, I felt the hard ball of backed up poop just yesterday. I appreciate the suggestion though about the second opinion. While her stools are now much softer than the "bunny pellets" she's produced in the past, the doctor wants to use the stool softener to get them even softer; applesauce consistency, so that any potential pain is eliminated any time she has a bowel movement. I relayed the info. from the pediatrician per John's request. I'm not expecting any comment regarding what the doctor prescribed. I now simply want to know how best support her to get past the idea that pain will be involved with defecating so that she may finally be completely toilet trained.
