Question
I have a 12 year old nephew who was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome several years ago. From my understanding, this condition has similarities to ADD (he's on that type of med). I know your opinion on the overdiagnosis of ADD and wondered if it was possible that Asperger's could be overdiagnosed as well? His behavior (to me) seems very typical of a 12 year old boy (quiet but interacts if talked to), but because of his diagnosis, his mom/dad don't discipline him and all of his mis-behavior is "caused" by this condition. He is becoming more anti-social (playing video games all the time) and will throw a fit if they don't do things "his way". Any advice?
