5 year old that disobeys and thinks he is in control old smashed his window last week and we have installed "kicking out of eden" There is nothing in his room but his bed.We have a chart, If he goes a day obeying, he gets a smiley face, if at any point during the day he does not obey, he gets a sad face. 7 smiley days and he can come out. 6 days in, he has only had sad faces. Should we give him more attainable goals, 1/2 days at a time, instead of whole days. We know this is going to be a long process helping him (and ourselves recover from non new sheriff parenting in the past) but think that will happen out of his room more than in. What seems appropriate for his age?
