Question
My 7 year old son scores "Borderline" on the Gilliam Asperger's scale, but he does not have a diagnosis. When he was 5, we resolved his HUGE behavior problems (including hitting and cursing at his dad & me at every instance of discipline) by kicking him out of the garden and requiring him to stay with me during all waking hours (in part FBO his siblings). He still fails to recognize any authority except for his father and me, fails to move to the next activity with the rest of the class, fails to recognize others' needs/perspectives/differences. Is a diagnosis and professional intervention going to help him grow in those areas,or should I keep plugging away with common sense?
