Teenager : Intellectually Disabled Teen

Question

Our 14 year-old daughter was recently diagnosed "intellectually disabled" as a result of increasing brain damage from seizures she has had since she was 5 years old. Her IQ is 68 - down from 79. Her life skills are excellent, and she is strong willed but overall cooperative in the family setting. Lately she has become lax in doing her chores, sloppy when doing them, and we have had to ask her several times to do even the simplest things like brush her teeth or make her bed. My gut says that this is more a question of being 14 and less a result of brain damage. We have used strikes with consequences being confining to her room and an early bedtime for three strikes. Am I being unreasonable?
