Question
My wife and I were recently convinced by our 7 year old that she wanted us to help her with an extreme makeover. It was several repeated and blatant deceptive behaviors (each were punished when they took place)that did it for us. We had her write a list of "guidelines" and took away all privileges "until she earns them back". (30 consecutive Days). The guidelines consist of generalities such as "respect", but also have things like, "think before you speak", or "learn when to say nothing". I know that you have said that it is good to pick a few target behaviors, but we feel this has been succesful thus far, since she has them in front of her and we are holding her accountable. Do you feel we are overdoing it? Or should we stay the course?
