Question
I recently started requiring more chores of my 5-year-old. Two of the new chores, sweeping and carrying in groceries, require him to go downstairs, where he is terrified of monsters unless someone is with him. He has no problem at all playing downstairs as long as he's not alone. His other chores are happening with minimal resistance, but getting the groceries into the house has been a melodramatic ordeal as he panics and wails and turns pale. How should I handle this?
