Grandma at 80

Question

Just a comment--when my grandmother was in her 80's, her son, in his 60's and a grandfather too, showed up at her house having had a few too many. My grandmother scolded him for having such little respect for her to show up at her house in this condition. He responded and I quote,"shut up old lady." She went over to him, smacked him across the face and told him to never speak to her like that again. He just hung his head and said,"you're the only one who can do that Ma."
Sobered him up fast. As a high school teacher and parent of a teenager, I've often told this story with the reminder that one is never too old to be reprimanded and put in one's place.
