Question
One of the public schools in my area has recently adopted this "laptop for every student" program. The parents hate the idea, but they charged ahead anyway. The school makes them all take out an insurance policy on the computer! A friend of mine said that her daughter didn't have her computer for one day it she downloaded all kinds of junk. They said it is only issued for educational purposes. Hello??? How in the world are they going to manage that?? Personally, I'm hoping that it's a miserable failure.
Any possiblilty that you could do an article on why this is the stupidest idea on earth? It was all over our newspaper last week, and your article on the topic would be a splendid (and much appreciated) contrast!
