Question
No form of punishment effects our 3 year old son. I have searched your archives and tried everything! We have currently been doing the ticket method but shortly after administering it, he has developed a really BAD habit of exploding. After he is sent to his room for the day or we put him on the stairs for a timeout he SNAPS. What I mean by snaps is slamming the door repeatedly, screaming like a possessed demon, hitting, kicking and HURTING HIMSELF. He has been so focused on breaking down the door (when on the stairs) that he now has carpet burn on his back!!! What should my husband and I do?! We have taken away everything from him, been consistent with our rules and enforcements and he still has fight left. This has been going on for a long time. We have never felt so helpless! Tonight after 3 and 1/2 hours he is STILL screaming and kicking! Please help us gain back control of our house!
